Mid-August · Watkins Glen International

The Event

What it is.

The single biggest booking weekend of the Finger Lakes year. NASCAR's Cup Series returns to Watkins Glen International for its only road-course visit of the summer — a full weekend of Xfinity, Truck, and Cup racing that turns the village into a 100,000-person camp for four days. Every hotel from Corning to Geneva fills twelve months out, and short-term rentals follow the same curve.

Our guests attend the race, walk the paddock, and come home to a lakeside cottage fifteen minutes from the track — the only lodging format that actually delivers quiet after a day in a NASCAR grandstand. Book a year ahead or don't book.

What to Expect

On the weekend.

  • Cup Series Sunday, Xfinity Saturday, support races Thursday–Friday

  • 100,000+ attendance across the weekend

  • Village of Watkins Glen effectively closed for parking and festival

  • Grand Prix Festival on Friday (see separate event)

  • Traffic into the track adds 60–90 minutes race morning

Why This One Matters

The biggest single booking weekend of the year on Seneca Lake — lodging fills twelve months out, full stop.
