Finger Lakes Cheese Festival

Late July · Shtayburne Farm (and rotating hosts)

The Event

What it is.

A single-day celebration of Finger Lakes artisan cheese, hosted at Shtayburne Farm Creamery and featuring cheesemakers from across the region — sheep, cow, and goat dairies, alongside partner wineries, breweries, and bread makers. Guests walk the farm, meet the animals, and taste their way through the region's small-production dairy scene.

It's one of the most underrated food events in the Northeast and a perfect anchor for a food-forward weekend — pair it with a Saturday farmers market, a Sunday winery lunch, and you have a weekend built around what the region actually produces.

What to Expect

On the weekend.

  • Regional cheesemakers with full tasting flights

  • Partner wineries, breweries, and bakeries pouring alongside

  • Farm tours — meet the animals, see the creamery

  • Single-day event, typically Saturday

  • Outdoor, rain-or-shine — dress for farm weather

Why This One Matters

The cheese equivalent of the wine festival — small-scale, focused, and the fastest way to taste Finger Lakes dairy.
